Hi,

Can someone please explain how to dilate k(x-2)^2+c in the positive y-direction by a factor of 4. Does this mean horizontally dilating the function?

Note: the answer is y=4k(x-2)^2+4c

Vertical dilation, so basically all the y values are affected (which is why the question describes it as positive y direction)

replace y by y/4 and then times the 4 over

if it was a horizontal dilation you replace the x instead
