Hi guys not sure if anyone can help me here but im having real trouble understanding a lot of post modernism and particularly this discourse theory despite doing a bit of research on it. Not sure if anyone can help me here but if you can it would be much appreciated if someone could just put it into words i actually understand

well, we've done discourse analysis and post-modernism.

To analyse a text through discourse answer these questions (there are more probably)

- Structure, is it a narrative
- Meaning of the text?
- underlying messages?
- literary techniques
- tone
- purpose
- audience
- context
- foreground
- background

ummm.. that's what I can think of for now...
