DivX -> H264 conversion? (1 Viewer)

yo BOS.

Using OS X.

Trying converting large (movies, ie. about 700mb) DivX (*.avi) files into the sxc .H264 format.

I'm using ffmpegX currently and the quality is being cunted when it converts.
Should I use a different program? or am I just not setting the output settings appropriately?

I just dl'd Visual Hub which is the more sophisticated version.
