My teacher says it's only the nonionic detergents that forms lather in hard water and that it doesnt react with the calcium/magnesium ions in hard water.

But isn't it logical that cationic detergents wouldn't react with these ions ???

I've also read somewhere that cationic and nonionic doesnt react with these ions....

WHAT'S TRUE!!!!
