So I'm currently undecided between flexible engineering at UNSW or advanced science at Usyd or UNSW. I was thinking of doing a double degree combining the two which I will then drop one by the end of first year by which time hopefully I will have decided then. Would anyone be able to answer any of the following questions or share their experiences doing doubles and dropping one later?
1. does UNSW offer flexible engineering as an option under a double degree?
2. how much harder is it doing a double degree compared to a single in terms of time commitment and allowing for part time work/a social life?
3. would I be able to drop easily anywhere between the first trimester to the first year without adding any time to the length of the degree comparing to if I went with a single degree?

thanks

Yes there are many double degrees offered with engineering, including science. No it’s no more work then a single cause either way you pick 3-4 courses a term. Yes you are able to drop any double easily.

Yo can anyone help?
I got the offer to the Eng/adv sci double but as I worried they don’t offer flex.
I’ve sent an inquiry form but it’s Christmas so they won’t reply until at least a week later. Should I enrol now for some random stream of engineering which I might enjoy (but I really have no idea rn) and try talk it out with them later or can enrolling wait till they come back to me?
Also how likely is it that they allow me to do flexible engineering under the double?
I’m kinda cooked I hate not knowing what I want to do yet😭
