bah, this is old news

a dual layer Blu-Ray is more than that.

when triple and quad layer blu-ray comes out there is no way HD-DVD can catch up.

and that's 12hours of DVD quality movies.

It is 12 hours of HDTV.

Dvds have already been the standard for decades..... or rather optical storage has now for approaching a decade.

are yuo sure they can do a Quad layer? i think that would be impossible.

i heard that instead they are developing ultra violet laser with can read even smaller grooves , so that can increase the capacity by way more maybe into the hundreds of Gigs.

yep, blu-ray can do lots of layers

All DVDs/CDs have error checking/correction built in. Minor scratches are taken care of.
