We got an assignment a few days ago regarding economics.
Basically we have to find 5 newspaper articles that address the role and actions of consumers in the economy.

Then we have to exame the factors that influence spending and saving decisions at different income levels.

And then evaluate the impacts of these factors on the economy and dicuss the effectiveness of people's choices in addressing the economic problem.

I don't know where to start!
I have a few Ross Gittins articles...

- look out for articles on inflation, interest rates and their effect on consumer spending

- look for an article about young people so you can talk about their low saving/high expenditure

- look for articles about different cultural backgrounds saving/spending eg one about an Aussie culture of dissaving, so we have increased loans

try smh, ninemsn and the age websites for articles, or alternatively, read the newspaper.

I'm not too sure about the role and actions of consumers.

Is it that consumers spending and saving affects whether Australia experiences inflation etc?
