He/She could do the ECON141 in first semester (evening class) and put one of his/her first semester subjects that are offered in both semesters to second sem.

Anyways, that degree has 9 first year units to do, you can only do 8. Maybe they can leave ECON141 till second year.

Yeah. The standard full time load is 12 credit pts per semester and 14 is the maximum you can do without special permission. If you did 5 subjects you have 15 credit pts. Actuarial might be different, you guys might have a 2 credit pt unit...flyin' knows more about actuarial than me.

So in short, your friend does 8 of the 9 in their first year. If the completion of ECON141 is not a pre-requsite for anything second year I'd leave that till second year. Also, they might want to do ACST101 in first semester so he/she doesn't compete with the actuarial students.

actuarials are "special" people. they are allowed to follow the recommendation of 5 subjects in a subject in first yr.

Cannot be done as ECON110 and STAT170 are pre-req's for ECON141. Unless they do it in SM1 of the following year.

Do the recommended (Actuarial) program, ie. 9 subjects in first year.

Ahh. In that case, your friend should definately leave ECON141 till secod year. Not even sure why its got a 100-level designation with such pre-reqs.

I would enrol in both for sm2 2005, then go to the law104 lectures and skip the econ141 lectures

Who wants my 141 notes ? :p :uhhuh:

But why would you encourage a first-year student to do 15 credit pts in a semester?!?

The academic advisors will tell you the same. From what I gather, the App Fin part of the AppFin LLB degree has a lighter load in 200-level units so it should be no problem squeezing it in there.
