econ141 has 2 prerequisite, econ110/111 or stat170/171.

i failed stat171, do i have to be doing a stat unit again before i can do econ141? i just missed on a CP [42] what should i do?

uh as far as i know, if its a pre- req you need to have done the required pre- req before you do the unit.

so yes you have you do a stat unit before you proceed to econ141. i don't think they will let you do stat171 again, you might have to so stat170...

is that econ110/111 OR stat170/171 ..... or...... econ110/111 AND stat170/171

cos if its the first, then you can do econ141 ... if its the second then you cant

my mistake...its 1 econ unit AND 1 stat unit.

my chances of getting a waiver are next to impossible since i can always catch up later on. ie- my time at uni isnt really prolonged or something...this is from my cousin who finished her last subject.

i dont know what i'll be doing next semester now

if you have to do stat again, obviously do stat170, you will find it a breeze compared to 171

You can always do what heaps of 2nd years are doing - do Stat171 again next year. Heaps of people repeat subjects.

why would you want to repeat a subject, unless you failed it??

are you allowed to repeat a subject even though you've passed it?!?!

1. For professional qualifications, Actuarial Studies students need Credits in a number of exemption units/for prereqs. If they fail to achieve Credits, they can choose to redo them (if prereqs), or take external exams*.

2. Yes, at Macq. (This isn't the case at, say a, Unsw.)

*Imo, Acst200 (in 2004) would be easier done externally, ie. 102 exemption.

yep i'll be doing it for sure. going to swap stat170 for econ141 for sem 2. then overload a subject maybe first sem next yr to be "back on track"
