elective wars: stat175 vs phil137 (1 Viewer)

looking for a subject which will give me best results for least amount of work.

so far to my knowledge:

stat175
pros- easy probability, something i have done before, dont need to learn a new *thing*
cons- still probability and can get tricky, will require constant work

phil137
pros- i like problem solving, enjoyed programming, no final exam
cons- unaware of what exactly have to doin the unit ie topics, something new, strong literary skills?

please feel free to add/correct me.

I'd pick phil137 because I really like problem solving

Redrum, phil137 is not programming.

you are probably thinking of logic-phil134. i actually talked about it a bit in another thread, so its probably better to see that thread. but in a nutshell, phil137-critical thinking- is exploring arguments and fallacies.

phil134 i guess you could say is more programming (PL and QL is a weird language which, apparently, has a use in computers).

You should have a look at the unit texts, when the book shop opens again, to get some understanding of the topics.

I still recommend phil137 though

phil137 will give you really good long-term life skills in analyzing arguments. it's also pretty easy to pass.

stat175 is cow dung. it's graphs and numbers and sweaty body odour.

cyan, i was referring to the problem solving side of programming.

analysing arguments seems too linguistic for me. looks like stat175 is going to come up trumps.
