on SBS tomorrow night at 10pm. doco about miles' late 60s-mid 70s electric/rock period, with 40 minutes of live footage from a 1970 performance at the Isle of Wight. worth watching for anyone with functioning ears.

i've considered shelling out $40 for the DVD of this doco a few times so i'm elated that it's turned up on TV.

whaaa? his 70's period is my favorite easily. a tribute to jack johnson, on the corner, live-evil, agartha, pangaea, get up with it, dark magus... geez, nearly everything he did then was untouchable.

on the other hand, miles throughout the 80's = wiggity wack

live evil and tribute to jack johnson were released in 1970, and i love those two to bits

the releases after that had its moments, but nothing really awesome that i usually expect from miles- but yeah, his wackness climaxed in the 80's

(ps i got get up with it on vinyl a few months ago for only $15  )

different strokes, then. i don't mind the lack of cohesion in his records then; Get Up With It is probably my fave and only really half of it hits the mark, but hits it big time.

admittedly though, i shouldn't have mentioned Pangaea. never really got into that one.

hah yeah, i just sat there in a borderline trance watching him.

i didn't like the way miles' voice-overs were put over his performance, but the footage was great otherwise.

Zombie_Artfag reminds me of Zombie Harwood. When me and my mates were asked to do a radio interview for english with gwen harwood, and we discovered she was dead, we basically asked questions and answered them with "BRaiiiiiiiiinnnns".

Hillarious.
