Your teachers will set specific deadlines for assignments and essays to be completed and submitted by a date.
- extensions of time are usaally only granted in cases of illness and extreme circumstances

It is imperative for you to set in place a definite Timeline for your drafting to follow.

Drafting
- it authenticates your work
- your teachers can see the development of your thinking
- it enhances your understanding.
Following is a dependable method of organising timelines:-

Day 1- write due dates on your Year planner and Calendar.

Micro- within 2 days
- understand the topic
- write what it means to you in your own words
- discuss it with friends
- brainstorm possible resources
- obtain a copy of the Assessment Criteria from your teacher.

Mini- within 4 days
- plan your research strategy
- locate references/ resources
- begin your research

Short- within the first week
- collect all information
- correlate data under main points
- develop sentences ans then paragraphs
- plan and assemble first draft

Medium -within 2 weeks
- ask your teacher for feedback on first draft
- analyse comments
- read through it with a parent/ friend to improve phrasing/ vocabulary
- revise draft

Long- within 3 weeks
- discuss interpretations with friends
- evaulate any feedback
- complete final

Always mark your Timeline stages in different colours on the Year planner or diary.

The stages can be adjusted according to the deadline
- this approach gets results
- reduces pressure on you
- actually creates time for other things

You can always improve on a draft
- you can't improve on ideas in your head.

Improve your efficency by typing directly into the computer or re writing it on paper.

Remeber, begin the task on Day 1.
