Surely expert estimator like yourself, you can give a pretty good one to your friend?

Your friend's UAI will depend a lot of his performance at the HSC but I reckon around 98.

He came 1st in all subjects besides one. (Assuming spanish isn't counted) So he can get anything from 98-99.5? Don't know about standard english though, a rank of 1st with a score of only 81?!

Ok, here are some statistics for my school to make it easier for all those who try to estimate:

we never had Band 6 for english standard but 5 people get high band 5s.
we had a top in the state for physics and usually get 10+ got band 6
we had a top in maths and usually 3-4 get band e4 in mx2 last year
we have 3 getting band 6 in chem

Ok, this guy that I just posted up got 99.90 UAI

He came first in the state for physics
but in the year before, he came first for maths as an accelerated student and 49/50 for mx1.

its always hard estimating with 1sts in a relatively low ranking school coz it depends so much on the person since the cohort isn't a real good indicator of how he'd perform.

Very nice. He did justice to his 1st ranks. Pity he did not get 99.95 and got automatic scholarships. But I bet hes not complaining haha.

P.S I did mention his UAI will depend a lot on his performance in the HSC lol.

98/100 for physics (top in the state)
100/100 for 2 unit maths (2003, accelerated - top in the state)
About 88/100 in English Standard
About 95 in Chemistry
About 98-99 in MX2
Band 6 in Spanish
!@#$% in SOR.
