i keep hearing abt this about extremely successful people - in terms of 99+ atars, unsw/usyd med, in a top 10 school, dux, topped ucat etc.

that they hired someone (like a 1st year med student or something) to just sit with them, organise their week, give them guidance on how to prepare for exams and assignments, answered questions in all subjects and stuff like that. like basically tutoring for school in general + ucat or whatever

i heard it from one person and i thought "alright thats so extra" but now i've gone around and asked people (tbf i asked people from dr du) and i know a few more people that did this kind of thing and apparently the guidance helped them. like its not everyone but i have counted 5 individuals from diff schools so far. ik my sample size is small but its just sort of weird bc i didn't know that was a thing.

my question is why would people do something like this and am i the dumb one for thinking it's too extra? to me it sounds beneficial in terms of helping with general advice and organisation but is it worth hiring someone lmao

my english tutor was 100 an hour. no one's gonna give u this luxury ahh tutor service for an average tutor price
100 dollars per hour is a lot for like 1 specific subject 😭 none of the tutoring places i go to charge 100 per hour of lesson + they give you extensive resources. that being said ive never done eng tutoring so that might be diff

am i just broke 😭
