Hey,
For those of you who are doing extension what film are you doing?

My French teacher says most people these days are doing Marius and Jeannette, but we're doing Au Revior Les Enfants, what a great movie!

Au revoir les enfants is a sad movie? M+J isn't sad at all, nice happy ending in a nutshell narration that miraculously clears up all the issues.

Amazingly I'm not sick of it yet either, it's just something to be watched. The video copy I got from my teacher died, so I bought the DVD of M+J off eBay, but it was in Spanish!!! But there was a French audio track, but I wanted French subtitles for if I needed them - which happens often, so I ended up finding a French French one on eBay too (it's very hard to pinpoint it...)...

It's terribly sad...it's about this little jewish boy who is hid in a catholic boys school during world war II. and it's a true story, the other main boy in it is the director Louis Malle when he was young, so that makes it sadder. my copy from my teacher is pretty awful too......all green, although at first i didn't realise that it wasn't meant to be green so i was attempting to analyse the use of green....argh!!

HAHA that's funny! :D Sorry... It's such a legitimate technique, considering Schindler's List maybe...
