Hi ppls,

On the last day of term 3 (last day for yr12 at school), my school will be having one of those big assembly things with the usual - awards, teacher speeches, performances, student speeches...

Anyway, I've been put in charge of organizing student speeches. Basically, these are just students speaking on our grade, and how we've come from yr 7 etc...

I would really want to do something special - funny without being offensive, and nostalgic... Anyone have any suggestions about what to do?

As I have to use a number of speakers, I plan to get a 'representative' from each social 'group' in our grade... The year adviser recommended that perhaps one person could talk about one year (i.e. how we were in yr7/8/9... etc), which sounds like an alrite idea.

So please, suggestions! Especially if u are a ex-yr12er...

i think the whole social group thing would be ok as long as the person u choose is a confident person and speaker and they actually want to do no one wants to see a speech by someone who is forced to do it..... i would delegate a year to a perrson that would be the easiest way to go and the least confusing for the audience....
does ur school captian have to do a speech aside from this or are these the only ones made?
if these are the only ones then i would get ur school captain to say the one on this year.....
hope that helps abit...

Ah, yeah... I'll have to check exactly what the
- 2 School captains
- Year adviser
are speaking about, but I'm hoping the few speeches that I arrange are perhaps.... more... different i suppose

Generally the year adviser says something pretty general along the lines of how far we have progressed as a grade, how she feels like a mother to us all, how we've all grown up etc...

Anyway.. please.. thoughts/experiences ppls~!

ohk we only have one captain but anyways make sure they tackle different things our school captains when they do their speech they generally talk about the school as a whole, and the younger years rather than the actually yr 12 class and so the others could do they year from 7-12
