What I find funny is all these people running seti etc generating a stack load of extra carbon/energy usage. When you look at it overall, is looking for little green men worth killing of all the non green ones here on our planet? SETI should have a new slogan, help find aliens, kill a human today

:D

Think about it :p and stop you pointless quest to find aliens.

Should join folding@home. Better than SETI as least. Is there any stats as to how many CPU's on SETI still?

I remember hearing about SETI six years ago. Back in the day where IRC was cool.

Edit: I meant ICQ

What happened to ICQ, anyway? It had just as much chance as MSN, but bombed...

Clunky interface, non-realtime feeling compared to MSN, I guess?
no.

main thing was that msn was bundled with windows.

yahoo messenger is a much superior product compared to msn, but msn still dominates.

i'm still using my lovely ICQ 2001b

anything older was way too bloated for my likings.

98a was the best ICQ i ever saw.
99b was alright, with your personal ICQ groups! that was cool
then 2000 started getting way chunky.

I would have to agree with Sasha. IMHO Msn should have stopped at v5. Hardly matters thought, with apps like Trillian and Miranda around.
