Does anyone have any recent links on John Howard's proposed gay marriage ban?
I had an article on it relating to the election from "The Australian" but I've lost it AND forgotten what was in it
can anyone update me on what the latest with the proposed changes to the marriage act are? Were they blocked before and likely to go through now that the Howard Government has control of the senate?
I really can't remember....
the last article i have is from may when he first proposed it

i thought Labor supported the ammendments....or most of them, i had thought they had passed, but i'm not sure.

u could try going to the parliament house website, they have bills that are currently b4 parliament.

other bet would be to check websites that cater for the homosexual community

i found this on a GAY/LESBIAN support group, forgot what it was called

just do a search and it should come up

if 2 out of 3 of Howard's bills on Marriage ammendment have been passed, it means the act has been officially ammended right?
i'm not 100% on how it works

I believe it has been referred to a Senate commitee, the results of which are yet to be published?

It is not law yet though

the debates on it are kinda obvious conservative christian society vs modernism, equality and access etc
I kinda need factual legal stuff about legislation and media
and the link on that post A doesnt work
and B is from may, so it just outlines the proposed change
