So this one is coming out in March according to Hexus.net! A score of 13,000+ in 3DMark 2005 + Athlon FX 60! Yikes!

The G80 with SM4.0 support is being targeted for a mid 2006 release! Just in time for Windows Vista.

Just thinking about it, 700MHz.. what kind of a monster cooling system would they have to implement on that. But since it's based on a smaller die (90nm), heat shouldn't be an overwhelming concern.

Meanwhile, ATi's releasing the X1900XT next month, so they're not standing too still either. Though the 7900 looks an utter screamer... I wonder how much it'll cost...

Judging by recent trends, the 7900 would come out in stock quantaties in March, while X1900 will be plaqued by supply problem again.

It's replacing the 7800 GTX at the top of nVidia's product line, and it's a higher-end card. When it's released, the 7800 will probably come down in price by a significant margin (hopefully) to the lower end of the high-performance cards.

And all of us have FX-60s. I reckon the next series of Motherboards will have to have double socket size to account for the gigantic fans.

That's why Intel developed the BTX form factor... which no one seems to want to use.
