I live in the North Shore, Chatswood/Willoughby to be exact and the only way I think I can get there is by taking the 272/273 to Wynard, but then I'm not so sure. Is there a bus from Wynard to UNSW?
And do bus drivers let you on or do they step on the gas as soon as they see you wearing a backpack?

A train is out of the question too since I'd be taking a bus the other way to actually get to the Interchange.

Since I live exactly where u live, I think I can help u out.

I usually go to the busstop and catch a 272 (not 273) as that takes about 10-15 mins to get to the city via freeway, then you hop on a train from wynyard to central, then grab a UNSW 891 bus direct to uni
this whole process takes about 45mins-60mins depending on traffic
make sure you buy a Red travelpass too

concession travelpass - $16 for 7 days worth of unlimited travel on train bus and ferry (bounded by Chatswood, Burwood, Rockdale, Bondi area - this area includes UNSW)

and yes, of course they do! you aren't a school kid anymore
