hi i was just doing some cambridge exercises but there was a question that required the graphing of x^2 - y^2 = a. do i need to know how to graph this because i was a bit clueless

It was a part of the old syllabus, so no you don't need it. But to test your understanding, it's possible to do it using the transformation of graphs that you would've learnt in prelim extension 1.

ah true i see now you can make y the subject and do the transformations. thank you very much!
