Hey, I don't know what it is, but I seem to have no creativity when it comes to english, even though im in the highest english class.....but to the point of my thread. We have a task where we must take another character from Hamlet besided Ros and Gil and Hamlet, and then make them the centre of the action in a new contemporary theatrical script that we compose. Thats all good and well except i cant really think of anything interesting to do.....I thought of making Ophelia central to the action....in which she mentions to her boyfriend Hamlet that she is sick of all her fathers negative comments whenever she brings up the name "Hamlet" and that in the end, even hamlet gets sick of her winginng (as he did in the original) and then tells her to p*** off and leave her alone...this is the last thread for her and she kills herself...so in that idea i thoght of two things from hamlet have been maintained...the comments about hamlet and ophelias sucide......but my question is i have deleted what i had written coz i think its a sucky idea....so have u guys got any suggestions as to other ways i could possibly go with this....? maybe a different character and a different situation they are in....it sorta has to be set in modern times....anyways thanks for any help in advance

I think choosing Claudius would be better, you could talk about how strange he thinks Hamlet is acting, how he murdered Hamlet's father and ultimately his nervousness when he realizes that Hamlet knows he killed his father.

I reccomend taking a look at the Hamlet that was made recently, starring Ethan Hawke and Julia Stiles, it is set in modern times and can give you a fairly good idea.

But remember plagarism is BAD.
