Head phones in computer (1 Viewer)

when i connect headphones to the computer instead of speakers, i can hear the sound however there is a loud disturbance in the background. a hissing noice. how do u make it clear?

The main volume is turned up waaaay too loud (I've had the same problem). Try turning the volume up in the program that you're using, and turning down the main volume (if you have a Creative sound card, you would use 'Surround Mixer' to alter the volume). Also try fiddling with the 'Wave/MP3' volume and see if that makes a difference.
