Hey guys - I was just wondering how this works because my teachers are telling me one thing and advice line is saying call he Board of Studies.

I did my English Exam today (Paper 1) - like most of you did haha - and answered all my questions after the other. So question 1 and 2 in booklet 1, questions 2 and 3 in booklet 2, question 3 (the end of it) in booklet 3. Just wondering whether they will mark all of them? I was told not to worry but should I?

Well ...

They didn't warn us at the beginning and ... my teachers all said not to worry but I'm not sure. So many people have told me I'll get zero. It's all done now but i'd still like to know haha - won't make the same mistake again.

Unfortunately if you do get screwed over, it's your fault, because the instructions are clear in both the questions, and on the front of the writing booklets themselves.

They're hardly clear.

BOS could start their own religion they're so damn ambigious.

no dont worry, because when i did pretty much what u did and when i realised my mistake the supervisor fixed it up for me and that doesnt mean i had to write it all over again....all i had to do, write on the booklets section 2 in book one and continued of section 2 in book 2
but i made many more other mistakes like write the student no. in the centre no space inside the booklets and vice versa...the supervisor just kept laughing at me and what i was telling her...i think she enjoyed her experience with me today

a rare opportunity in an exam room cause most of the times it just bores them to death

The markers of your paper will bring this to the attention of Supervisors of Marking who will ensure that all your responses for each section is marked by distributing your booklets after they are marked. You will not be penalized.

Try not to do it next time. The markers are nice and won't penalize you for it; however, it just makes their jobs harder. :)

Guys... Don't all these papers get separated into different marking centres? Like Section I goes to Newcastle and Section III to Sydney, and things like that? That's what my exam supervisor said anyway....

Yeah I did the same thing, i did sections 1 and 2 in the same booklet, and the third section in another. The supervisers didnt tell us that we shouldnt do this, and i looked on the front of the booklet and it didnt say anything bout it.

Why in the world would papers from Sydney get sent up to coffs?
Because there are markers in Coffs. And its not just the papers from sydney that get sent there.

Obviously. But there are also markers in Sydney. I just don't get why they would SPLIT UP the papers and send them across the state.

I guess it would be so they can have the markers specialised in one section. Keep all the sections together. And that way, the same markers are marking everyones papers. Keep it fair, that sort of thing.

Uhh, there are 65,888 students doing the HSC....
The same markers cannot possibly make everyones papers

But they do it to keep it fair. Maybe Section I goes to Dubbo, Tamworth, Section II goes to Sydney, Newcastle etc. etc. Basically, the same markers would mark most of the same section questions.

Can you imagine if Sydney students had to get marked under Sydney standards and Dubbo students marked under Dubbo standards? Now THAT would be unfair.

(sorry Dubbo...)
