Could you help me fill the table?
I'm confused :(

Salt
basic
acidic
acidic

my question to you is: why? (use L/B theory of conjugate acid/base to argue it out)

Going Across:
Weak Strong Basic >7 Phenolphthalein
Strong Weak Acidic <7 Methyl Orange
HCl NaOH (Strong Strong) 7 Bromothymol Blue

note that for the last one in theory we say bromothymol blue since it has a color change at the end point however the titration curve for a strong-strong titration has a steep inflexion point and so we can use any of the three indicators in the syllabus so practically we would use phenolpthalein, becuase it has a more distinct color change

Lowry-Bronsted said acids were proton donors (electron acceptors) and bases were proton accpetors (electron donors) amirite

@elseany: man, you gave it all away, cept the last one... it's HCl and Na2CO3, not NaOH

@f3nr15: i was trying to get him to think it for himself =S
