i have been given the following question for my first Anient Assement:
To what extent were the defeats of the Persians up to 479BC the result of unifed action by the Greek City-states?
any adivce on what i should do?

Look at each battle for evidence of unity (or more like forced unity - Themoplayae and Salamis). Congress of Istmuth also esseital to your question where "Athens waivied their claim in the interest of national survival" (Herodotus)

Plataea is the key and best evident of how unity was essitnal to victory. hope that helps
