u dun need much info

Lavoisier- all acids contained oxygen

Davy - acids had replaceable hydrogen

Arrhenius - acids when dissolved in h20 make hydrogen ions
bases ... make hydroxide ions

these ideas are unsuitable because:

*does not take into account non-metal oxides which can have acidic properties
*does not consider other things like NH3 which is a base not dissolved in H2o
etc

hope helps to sm degreee!

You could also expand on it if you feel creative

Lavoiser suggested that acids contain oxygen because in greek that means "with sour taste"

Davy disproved lavoisers theory as well as say acids have replaceable hydrogens

and you seem to have covered arrhenius well :p, but he also did help the concept of pH with the whole Hydrogen Ion concetration

i also recommend u adding the limitations of each
ie. Laviosier - HCl was an acid which didnt contain oxygen and CaOs were basic which contained oxygen
Davy - need to be more specific
Arrhenius - His definition is narrow because it excludes metallic oxides and carbonates which are bases too.

arrhenius also pt'ed out strong/wk acid, but didn't explain the role of solvent
LB pt'ed out the role of solvent interms of strength of acid...
