Hello.
does anybody know, if i buy the Excel book, does it follow the Books. as in, if i want to do Exercise 4b (EXAMPLE) Will it show extra examples that i can follow, for instance,
simpsons Rule is not that hard, but theres one type which i think i have figured out but im not sure,
Now am i right, all you have to do is,
use the simsons rule twice, likeone the right way and one upside down? or am i wrong,

PICTURE IN YOUR MIND WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE
Normal Simpson Rule, One The rightway up, and one attached on Upsidedown,
Both have te same Distance between measurement H=40
iv been llookin all over the Net to find a website that will help,
ANYONE GOT NEE IDEA's\
Thanks

it wont follow the same order neccessarily as ur text book does, but it covers everything.

i found it helpful 4 revision, particularly the revise in a month one. its quick, doesnt go into 2 much detail and just refreshed wat u already learnt. i got 90 in the test.
(assessment pulled me down)

ummm
all you have to do for simpsons rule is figure out what value to put for all the letters (h, f, m, l or whatever they are) then put it into ur calculator
if the line with the values for h is in the middle of something (instead of being at the bottom) then you need to do 2 (or more) applications of the rule.. just make sure you find somewhere in the shape that has lines that look like this |_|_| (it may involve rotating the picture around) then you can apply the rule
remember if it looks like this |_|_|_|_| you should apply the rule twice to get it more accurate rather than using just the middle one and the 2 outside ones..
not sure if that helps i can draw you a diagram if you are still confused
i found the excel book useful for different explanations on how to work things out but often the textbook gives the most detail (i highly recommend the new century one)

As croangel just said, use Simpson's Rule twice. Once for the first bit (right side up) ... h/3*(df+4dm+dl) ... I think here h=40 ... and again for the bit attached upside down ... h/3*(df+4dm+dl) ... and h = 40 here too. Add the two areas together for your answer. Does that help?
