hey

i'm going to do a screenplay for my major work. i'd love to do something in the horror genre, but i'm not sure how it would hold up as a major work for my hsc.

i want to try and do something in the vein of 'Rosemary's Baby' or 'The Wicker Man' or 'Don't Look Now'.

I guess my question is, do you think it would be looked down on because of the genre - or doesn't that matter to revered board of studies.

Thanks in advance

it shouldnt make any difference what genre you choose to create your piece in, so long as you either really show a clear understanding of the genre conventions, or you play with the conventions. i would really recomend doing the latter since you have potential to create a really interesting and intelligent peice. But like Karma kitten said, make sure it has substance and its not just a cliched horror etc.
oh, and make sure you show plenty of research in your diary
