Does anyone know the standard for house heights... or the ceiling height rather...

...ok i know me121 will probably be the only person to answer the question... but maybe adding some threads here will get this place thriving ...:jedi:

i'm not sure... i'm not an architect. but it would vary. There may be common ones, but it's not in AS1100 because thats for the drawings not the design. there should be some other architectural design standard somewhere, but i don't know which ones.

I joined just to answer your question. I believe they are based on 300mm increments from 2.1m onwards (It couldn't be any smaller). My house is brick veneer, built in the 1960's and the ceiling height is 2.1m. Older homes will tend to have greater ceiling heights. My grandparents' home is a lot older, double brick and about 3.0m. A lower ceiling height can be a cost cutting measure.

I'd imagine these days on new houses ceiling heights would be between 2.1 and 2.4m.
