so... im not good at eco and havent done too well in year 11. i think my main problems are not knowing what to write for essays/short answers to hit the marking criteria and not knowing how to expand and explain in a coherent way. i dont think my teacher explains well at all and she also goes off topic a lot so im also struggling to pay attention in class.

i try doing practice questions but i just find that i just dk how to write well and i have to constantly look at sample answers. rn im just aiming for a band 6 so for those people who had a big comeback in eco, what did u realise u were doing wrong, how did u fix it and how much effort/time did u have to spend on this subejct??

Tbh I just began studying in advance and learning the concepts urself outside of school. So like globalisation for instance, do your own indepdent research on that + look at the resources provided by ur teacher and bored of studies. Once u go ahead listening to ur teacher will become a lot easier as what she’s saying and even her ramblings may make sense

The MCQs are just practice papers as much as possible - there are common questions and tricks you can spot which if you do enough you'll understand how to ace them. Short answer and essays is a combo of understanding directive verbs (provided by NESA online), core theory and terminology and real world examples. The textbook has all the theory content, so what @llikedrivingbymycarandthe said is a great tip! Understand the core theory and then when your teacher rambles it will make sense, and you can challenge the theories/assumptions being discussed. Seek as much feedback on your writing as possible and over the year start to collect good stats that work across a range of essays.
