"Doc is she gonna make it?prolly
dawg what
alright thanks!contrary to what other people have said about memorisation, I got a lot better at japanese through immersion.
here are some of the things I did to get better at japanese:
listening / speaking
- watching shows in japanese with an app called lingopie (they have subs in jp that you can click on to learn)
- watching interviews and conversations in japanese
- writing my own conversations and practising with a friend
reading / writing
- learn and practice grammar + sentence structure
- expand vocabulary and learn new kanji
- read news articles and posts in japanese (in social media) rather than only reading textbooks
additionally, I use this dictionary website called jisho.org which is super helpful for translating words and kanji from jp > eng and vice versa.
I hope you find at least some of these points useful !!

yep I definitely agree with this!regarding immersion
personally I would argue for that in order to utilise immersion to its fullest you would need a solid foundation to start ( at minimum strong grammar construction to understand the sentences)
regarding reading and writing
for the news articles I would recommend nhk easy reading.
it should take time to get used to, but at Year 12 extension level (N4-3) each passage should be pretty doable within 5-10 minutes.
one of the best tools to use is the yomitan dictionary, search it up and it will be very useful
