I'm doing
Legal
Eco
Eng Adv
SOR II
Eng Ext I
Mathematics 2U

Mathematics is undoubtedly my worst and least enjoyable subject & I'm expecting it to be my lowest subject..That being said, If I do well in Eng Ext 1 and my mathematics mark is ok (around 80s) what will happen?

Each two unit subject is divided into two equal marks of one unit for ATAR calculations so after English is counted the next 10 best units - if one of those is a one unit subject then the worst two unit subject will only count as one unit.

In your list of subjects if the scaled marks were:

Legal - 2 x 46
Eco - 2 x 45
Eng Adv - 2 x 46
SOR II - 2 x 44
Eng Ext I - 1 x 47
Mathematics 2U - 2 x 45

The two best units of English:

1 x 47 + 1 x 46 and then your next 8 best units 3 x 46 + 4 x 45 + 1 x 44 - meaning one of your SOR II's wouldn't count.

Of course the one unit that won't count can vary across any of the above subjects including English as you have one unit of English to spare as well - although I assume that you are quite good at English as you are doing advanced along with a lot of humanities subjects.
