The number of quotes aren’t anywhere near as important as the depth of your analysis. You likely got better in your module b essay because you had less quotes and could focus on analysis more. I recommend having minimum 9 quotes (3/paragraph and 3 paragraphs). It also largely depends on the length of your quotes. Sometimes quotes are quite long and you don’t analyse them fully. I tend to use shorter 4/5 word quotes and focus on 1/2 techniques per quote.
Majority of your English marks, I feel depend on if your answering the question. A who’s person doing 12 quotes but has superficial analysis will do significantly worse than a person with 9 quotes but really fleshed out links.
I have 9 quotes for common mod, 12 for mod a, and 18 for mod b, but my mod b essay tends to link different quotes together and has an overall different approach to analysis. My mod A essay is pretty basic with alternating quotes from each text and only 2 BPs with 6 quotes each, but my common mod essay is quite fleshed out in its discussion of the human condition.
It really does depend on how you approach the module and your writing speed as well
Maybe keep module b as is, and see how you might change the other two essays to be more in depth. Is timing an issue for you with those two essays? Maybe that’s an issue that doesn’t allow you to focus on the depth of analysis.
I hope this is somewhat helpful : )
