Eh, you can answer it in first person, but you cannot make it too personal like a conversation. Your answer would be a "personal response" and although you can use the whole "I learnt" thing, I always thought it would be better not to.
You would still answer it semi formally like an essay, but instead of writing "the audience" or "the readers", you would put "we".
Example answering the question:
The individuals on this journey has learnt that ___________. Through the composer's original presentation of this idea and the profound impact it has had the individual, we also feel ___________.
Do you see how it's in first person, but it is not as colloquial as "I learnt that____"?
