Hey guys, just a bit of context I’m getting whopped in bio rn currently sitting at like 75 ~
I was just wondering how to best study for bio, do I need to spam past papers like chem or math or should I focus on memorising the content well, cuz I feel like you don’t really need that much practice for bio maybe just 5-6 before hsc (which I plan to do). Thanks

I feel like math is the kind of subject you can spam past papers in order to study most effectively bc once you’ve understood concepts then all that’s left to do is apply them by doing questions

for content heavy subjects like bio imo it’s more important to first know the content well, which means for instance making your own module notes or summaries based on the syllabus points and then revising them regularly so that you retain

obviously it’s still important to do past papers to practice timed conditions and writing structured responses, it can also help identify things you don’t know that well and then you can go back and study it or add to your notes etc.

I think just be strategic and do maybe both content memorisation and past papers simultaneously and let both modes of study inform each other. e.g. focus on one module to learn well first then attempt a past paper and see how good you are with that module’s questions, mark yourself after and go back and fix your notes based on where you went wrong or showed a lack of knowledge then do the same with the next module
