how do you type in subscripts and superscripts?

insert--->object-->microsoft equations

Or if you don't have microsoft equations, just highlight whatever you want as a subscript/superscript, right click, click font, then check the box that says subscript/superscript.

e.g

Fe2+(aq) + 2e- --> Fe(s)

To enter the 2+ charge for example use the superscript tags [ sup] and [ /sup] WITHOUT the spaces.

e.g

O2(g) & O3(g)

To enter the 2 or 3 number of atoms in a molecule for example use the subscript tags [ sub] and [ /sub] WITHOUT the spaces.
