how exactly am i meant to relate whatever related texts im using to JC
thematically, contextually, or just like 'similarly, this related text shows that conflicting perspectives often arise from differing motivations etc'

It will depend on the question and your thesis response, however you're on the right track in terms of knowing how to link your texts together.

Keep in mind the rubric points of composers representing CP in events, personalities and situations, thus a question may well ask you to discuss CP in one of those points specifically or all of them together.
