HSC scaled marks (1 Viewer)

hey i just looked at table 3 from the uac website concerning hsc scale marks.

now from looking at the table, it seems to me that the scaled mark u r given depends on ur rank in a given subject. my problem is that i'm struggling at advanced english, and will probably end up with a hsc mark of 80. now looking from last year's results, a mark of 80 would place me around the 43rd percentile. now looking back at the table this would mean i would get a scaled mark less than 33.9, now that is dreadful!!

can anyone tell me if this is the correct way in predicting a scaled mark? and does that mean i'm correct in saying that a low band 5 for advanced english is still a crap mark?

well if u came in the lower percentiles for most other subjects, u'd be even more shocked..
i think only a select few subjects such as Math Ext.1, actually scale u up if u are in the lower percentiles

well if u got in the lower percentiles of the other subjects its likely that u got a band 4 i it anyway. but for english, even if u get band 5 u get scaled down to the 60s thats wrong man... is anything gonna be done about it this year?
