I am such a loser! when i got home i went frantic and did something really rash and put arts-psychology as my preferences and now they look like this...

1. Business Admin & Bachelor of Arts - Psychology 91.1
2. Bachelor of Commerce at Macquarie University 89.5
3. Bachelor of Arts - Psychology at Macquarie University 85.3
4. Arts at Macquarie University 84.8
5. eBusiness at Macquarie University 82.9
6. Social Science at Macquarie University 85.6
7. Property Economics UTS- 86.5
8. Bachelor of Social Sciences at University of Sydney 83.15
9. Bachelor of Business and Commerce at UWS 84.65

my uai 88.95

i know i won't get the first two but the rest i think i'm likely to get .. but the thing is...

i want to get a bachlor of arts in psychology/business administration degree...
so im going to do the whole internal transfer thing

i'de like to at least do one psychology subject in the first semester and someone told me i have to choose Arts-psychology for that so i put in the Arts-psychology degree as one of my preferences... can i choose business type subjects within this degree or am i better off declining the offer and taking up just an arts degree?
becoz i wouldn't mind foregoing psychology if it meant i couldn't do business subjects in my first semester.

You're only restricted by the units with restrictions (quotas or UAI equivalent), so from what I can figure, it shouldn't be a problem.

There are only 2 100-level psych units, and people in the normal BA CANNOT do those units in their first year.

Clairegirl - Awesome, you wanna do the degree that I first enrolled at Macq for (bba/ba-psych) before I changed to BBA/Law.

If you get into just the BA-Psych, you'll be doing PSY104 psychology 1 and STAT170 Intro to Statistics.

You'll have 2 other subjects to do...i suggest MKTG101 Intro to Marketing (easy unit, and core for bba) and either ACST101 - mathematics of finance (yucky core unit I found very hard, but numbers people find it easy) OR COMP1** (core, one of the first year computing units).

zaijan - Almost all business units (core units for the BBA) are restricted. The ones you can do I've outlined:

STAT170
MKTG101
ACST101
COMP1**

I heard it was pretty easy..

Yeah, but if they did any computing for the HSC I don't think they get credit for that subject...

Well if you're not a maths person, then you might not be too into the BBA (there are 2 finance subjects and 2 accounting subjects).

With a psych degree, you'll need to statistics every year...but you can do the first year statistics unit over a year instead of a semester if you are really worried.

Look under the APS accredited BA/BSc - Psychology bit. The electives can be pretty much anything that you meet the pre-reqs for....which is pretty much all the subjects in the normal BA.

That's the unit, Actuarials label "the easiest three credit points you'll ever earn". Of course, those are the numbers people. :D

Ah, to transfer you don't need much, other than to pass everything and maybe get a Cr in one other subject, maybe two.

It's a SNG (Standardised Normal Grade) of between 65 and 74, inclusive. It shouldn't be too hard, if you actually study sometime during the semester before the finals. :p That's for most subjects, besides something that Actuarial Studies and Law. :D

Haha, you make it seem like law is hard.

If only my business subjects were as easy as law..

Well, it's not hard as such, I'm thinkin' of the marks people will get. I mean, you should be doing more than well in your Business units, if you can manage Law, I'd guess.
