I can't believe last year's HSC "QUANTA TO QUARKS" (1 Viewer)

I thought it was interesting that 18 marks /25 from the quanta to quarks option section were on "S9" dot points in a row basically from the syallabus.

The additional 7 marks were on both more "S9" points and like 3 "K9" marks on definition or something.

I wonder if they will do this again this year! I mean there arn't that many "S9" points in the syallabus. My guess is there will be a "Pauli and Heisenberg" question and a "Significance of standard model of matter" or whatever it is.

Yeah it'd be a fair guess that they'd ask about the standard model or the significance of the uncertainty principle or discovery of the neutrino.

Still The Bohr/Rutherford model of the atom is a favorite in trial exams.

yeah
i noticed that the manhatten project, chadwick/fermi question and the alpha particle experiment questions were ripped straight off the syllabus...

and yeh i agree, there is a high possibility of heisenberg/pauli, and perhaps Bohr's limitations etc

not only 'ripped straight off the syallabus' but all "gather, process and analyse information to assess..."

That could be because schools hadn't finished the option yet though.

That was the plan of last year's HSC. It's a good bet that this year's will be similar, but I'd be cautious about saying it'll be virtually identical. No-one expected 8 mark questions last year, who knows what surprise we'll get!

Oh! A 25 mark essay for quanta to quarks on the ethical issues involved with electron microscopes!

actually, that wouldn't be so surprising, in this day and age of the damn new HSC...
