IE crashes when... (1 Viewer)

Hey,

Im having trouble, now that Microsoft no longer has Java Applet installed on its IE now. After i just installed J2SE, everytime IE loads a SSL security certificate, the browser crashes, it didnt happen before i installed it, and i install it cuz i dont have java anymore

does anyone know whats the problem?

Did you download it from Java.com ? I'm not sure why IE is having a tantrum with it. You could try an alternative browser (Firefox/Opera/Lynx/Links) are see if that has the same issue - it might be just IE that has the error.

you gotta click in the yellow bat at top of page that pops up.

MS was required to make other JVMs available in its brower because it was accused of shipping a "crippled" JVM in order to compete and kill off Java - even then its still hard to get a a replacement JVM for IE.

Your best bet is with another browser as mentioned.

oh hi everyone, everything is really fixed after a simple restarting.

i forgot to mention i did not restart after installing Java, (because after installing they didnt mention to restart or automatically restarting the comp for me)

I hope longhorn will get rid of the requirement of restarts like linux and OSX.
