some of the connecters on laptops are small ones without power supply

small and rectangular about 1/4 a usb port.

Yeh ive got one on my tablet, but most firewire cables are the larger size - so i can never use it (e.g ipod) :mad:

i have a 4 pin one (small one)... is there an adapter you can get to convert it to the larger (6 pin?) adapter??

and also in network connections folder i get this

1394 connection
connected, firewalled
400mbs
1394 net adapter

like i havent connected anything to it yet...
