Importance of FIN1612 (1 Viewer)

Hey Guys,

I plan to major in Finance and I was going to choose FIN1613 in Sem.2 but then a friend told me that it's super hard in Sem 2 and should leave it till next year and do 1612 instead but I heard it's really boring. So is 1612 a common prerequisite for more advanced finance levels? And is there truth to the reputation of FIN1613 as really hard in Sem.2?

I would prioritize 1613 over 1612 because it's a lot more important in terms of prerequisite and major structure. 1612 is easier than 1613 and they both are harder in Sem 2 , however the ASB does scale the marks if there's a significant increase in difficulty. They did this Sem 2 last year and a lot of people did fine.

Also, doing a course when it's more difficult is going to be advantageous when you enter higher level courses because your fundamentals are going to be stronger.

If you dont do 1612 next sem, you block yourself from doing 2624 the sem after so I'd just do it next sem.
