Dear Students,
UWS would like to issue a warning to all students to use caution when
replying to email sent to their UWS student email accounts. Students at
the University of Technology Sydney have recently been targeted by hoax
emails seeking to obtain students login details for their official
university accounts.
The hoax emails are presented as official emails sent to students by the
university and typically ask students to verify or confirm their email
accounts, allowing their password information to be stolen.
UWS does not send emails requesting that students disclose their login
and password information via email. UWS advises students not to respond
to messages requesting confidential information without first verifying
the source.
If you have received a hoax email, delete the email immediately from
your inbox and deleted items folder. Do not click on the link or provide
the information requested.
If you have responded to a hoax email by providing your login and
password information, please contact the IT Helpdesk at
helpdesk@uws.edu.au or on (02) 9852-5111 immediately to change your
password information.
