If a pattern occurs for all 12 squares (6 squares in set A and set B), do we usually disregard it?
e.g. a common example: say all squares have say 4 shapes inside them, whilst Set A has a circle in the middle and Set B has a triangle in the bottom left corner.

Answer says that a shape with just one star in the middle counts into Set A instead of being neither, from which I take that if there is a common pattern across sets, it is disregarded.

Is this true? Thanks for helping out in advance!

yeah that fits in with what i know, there's no point distinguishing the pattern if it applies to both sets. then its not a unique trend to either set, doesn't help u answer the question if the question is "which of the following tests applies to set A?" (for example). but its useful if the question gives u a test shape that doesn't fit in line with the common trend across both sets (eg both sets have 12 shapes, this test has 13 shapes), so u can pick "neither" instead of A or B.

if that makes sense lmao
