hey Ella,
In my text book "PDHPE, Application and inquiry", information on the use of technology can be found on pg 342. I'm not sure if you have the same text book.
Here is a summary for you.
"coaches have a number of techniques that can aid training, skill development and performance. These various aids are designed to correct technique, create resistance. offer support or padding and improve performance. Most have made the work of coaches easier because coaches are able more closely to stimulate, or to evaluate an athletic performance.
Training Innovation
Current infromation is available about coaching techniques, equipment, psychological techniques, nutrition, testing, coaching aids and technology.
Some technological advancement s include:
- clothing (type of material, shoes)
- Protective equipment
- Computer programs and software (statistics and perfromance)
- Internet (Interative sports websites)
- Electronic scoresheets and scoreboards
- Engineering technology at sporting venues ( roofs, modern seating)
- Testing procedurea
- Nutrition
- Heart rate monitors
- Training facilities

- Coaching staff with specific tasks (doctors)

Video and Data-Gathering and Analysis
- Recoding athletes performanc eon video allows the coach to concentate more fully during the actual competition. By using vidoes, the coach is able to replay movements, correct techiniques and evaluate performance.
Data can be gathered during the performance, and afterwards using a video rplay. They can record how many tackles an indvidual made, how much ground was made etc. The strengths and weaknesses of the opposition can also be made.
All the best
