Just wondering if the study programs for both parties are the same.

I have had a hard time finding a study program online/in handbook of my course, but my friend (an internation student) - gives me the link to an internation section , with the complete details of my course, cost ( even though i see its $15000+ P.A !)etc etc, and most importantly - the sample program.

Can someone check this out for me (scroll down towards bottom):

http://www.international.mq.edu.au/study/undergraduate/areas_coursedetails_print.asp?cse=29

See if it co-responds to a local student's study program, as i cannot find such information in the handbook / online regarding to sample study programs.

Thanks!

you can.. you just have to do the core units for each degree.

see for BAppFin, the core units are:
ACST101, ECON110, ECON111, ECON141, ACCG100, ACCG101, STAT170, COMPxxx.
and for BCom-MKTG:
ACCG100, ACCG101, BBA102, COMPxxx, ECON110, ECON111, ECON141, STAT170.

they all seem to share all the same CORE first year units except for ACST101 and BBA102. all you do is pick those subjects which they share and BBA102 and ACST101. the shared units will count for BOTH degrees. so ECON110 will count for both BAppFin and BCom(MKTG).

Ok, i made a list or core subs that share-
and only BBA102 and MKTG101 (for B comm-mtkg)
are not listed for Bappfin.

So therefore, i have 10 subjects that overlap degrees at a 100 level for me tocomplete.

Does this mean in the 2nd year of uni i will be doing 2 lvl 100's subs ?

oh yeah i forgot the most important unit for bcom(mktg).. thats the MKTG101.. hahaha.. the heart of the degree!! opps.. my bad!!

so it looks like ACST101, BBA102 and MKTG101 are the ones they don't overlap...

since yoru only allowed to do 4 subjects per semester, the rest of the other core 100 level units will have to be done in second year.

e.g

Core App fin (lvl100)
_______________

acst101
econ110/111/141
accg100/101
stat170
comp123

Core B comm-mktg
_____________

As above, with extra ;
bba102
mktg101

Ok great, so i will have to do the extra 2 subjects semester 1 in year 2.

Now why cant i just do this program that the internation students do in the link above

YEAR 1 (CORE UNITS)
ACST101 Techniques and Elements of Finance
BBA102 Business Organisation Principles*
ECON110 Macroeconomic Principles*
ECON111 Microeconomic Principles*
MKTG101 Marketing Fundamentals*
STAT170 Introductory Statistics*
YEAR 1 (ELECTIVE UNITS)
ACCG100 Accounting IA*
ACCG101 Accounting IB*

its exactly the same CORE 100 level units.

if you look at the international program , in 2nd year they do comp123 and econ141.

Explain this one to me :p
i wanna transfer to Bcomm/llb

and in the rules it says..

"Students must apply for the non-law quote .... transfer for students not enrolled in LLB :
* completion of LAW113 and LAW103 and at least GPA2.0"

how can i do LAW113/103 when im not in the course / to busy fullfilling current degree ?
isnt gpa of 2.0 low for a LLB course ?

i guess you would have to squeeze in LAW113 and LAW103 into your degree. i think they figure people who want to trasnfer to combined LAW are only in 1 degree. i'd say pick a degree (from the two you have) and try to do those core units for that degree and squeeze in the LAW subjects. remember it does say that you have to enrol in the combined program BEFORE the end of your second year, so maybe you could do your first year as planned, and then squeeze in LAW113/103 in your first semester!!

as for the GPA of 2.0, yeah its a pass average. i think its a bit too low, but then again usyd/unsw's requirements are too high!! i read somewhere on this forum that LAW at macq isn't a recognised as other uni's and UWS law is much better than macq law, because macq law is so easy to trasnfer into!!

nice!

so what u mean is ;

put 2 of my core subjects aside, do the LAW103/113 in SMester 1
hopefully transfer ok - then possibly wont have to worry about those 2 core subs until year2. ?

just try and fit those law subjects into your degree before the 3rd year!!

pick 1 out of your 2 degrees and try and stick to those core units so that way you won't lose time and you get credit for them in your LLB program!!
