intransitive and transitive verbs (1 Viewer)

one thing thats been bothering me are these two terms ..>! could someone explain them to me and their differences and also whats the diff btwn atsmeru and atsumaru.. they both mean to gather/to collect but ones vt and the other is vi or something... ekkkkk lol

there are two kinds of GATHER

eg1 PEOPLE GATHERED.
or
eg2 I GATHERED PEOPLE.

usualy (95% of times) atsumaru (is this intransitive, i dont know ) is after wa or ga
and atsumeru is after a wo.

so in conclusion, atsumeru is wot someone does. and atsumaru is wot happened to something/someone

sorry i dont know wot intransitive and transitive is, since i remember it my way

i started the exam
watashi ha shiken WO hajimeta.

or

the exam started
shiken GA / WA hajimatta

TRANSITIVE VERB: an action that can be done to someone/thing

eg: I punch the pervert

here "punch" is the verb, and since it is done to someone else it is transitive

INTRANSITIVE VERB: an action that can be performed, but not "at" anything

eg: I sleep

You can't "sleep" someone. (You can "sleep with", and that is the transitive form of "sleep", but you get my meaning).
