USYD and UNSW High Achievers Invitation

Did anyone else receive an invitation from USYD today (it came in express post - don't know why?) to come to lunch on 4th jan (uni open day). I think because i got a high uai, they're trying to steer me to usyd, but i had my eye set on unsw from day 1, but i'll probably still go just to meet the dean etc.

I also received one with my scholarship notification. Suppose it can't hurt to bring the parents along.

I think only people who got 99.95 or 100 were invited, which sucks. A lot.

For USyd? Or for UNSW? For the former it would make sense, since the USyd scholarship is only for 99.95+. Even if I'd scraped another .05 I wouldn't have been able to take it, since $5k pa wouldn't even come close to covering the cost of living in sydney. If it's also 99.95 for free food at UNSW, I'm bitter and confused, since Scientia is 99.90+

For Usyd. UNSW likely have different criteria - I listed Combined Law at UNSW as my third preference and haven't received anything from them.

I only just changed my preferences to add Combined Law at UNSW, so that might be it in any case...

++interesting.

it seems that USYD offers an invitation for those who received 99.90+ and UNSW for 99.95+

damn i got 99.90!

and i don't think it's a faculty thing- as long as you have listed usyd/unsw as one of your 9 preferences. i'd so prefer to go to the unsw one, but of well.

it would've been better if unsw invitation was at 99.90+, considereing scientia is also at 99.90+

I dont think it has anything to do with UAI, firslt because i got one, (with 96.15) and also I GOT IT 2 DAYS AFTER THE HSC FINISHED!!! maybe ur making something big of nothing lol, although there could be another reason, but i'd better not reveal that one, lol. ;)

I haven't received anything in black and white about the UNSW morning tea. The lady who rang me up about the Scientia scholarship yesterday mentioned it. For USyd, I got that Express Post letter lol.

I wonder how many people will take the Scientia scholarship. About 100 people in NSW get 99.90+ and of those, I'm sure a lot will do Med and/or go to USyd.

Well my fantastic UAI of 72.8 warranted a Usyd invite, so im pretty sure it has nothing to do with UAI, unless they really like me...
